I'm LT, and I love to build fast trucks and cars. On my channel, I show you every step along the way, whether its fabrication and welding, wiring, engine swap tips, mechanical repair and more. I try to focus on high performance upgrades, so a lot of the projects I do revolve around adding horsepower, improving handling, and just making trucks more fun overall. My current projects include the "UglyTruck" a turbo'd 8.1 swapped silverado, an AWD Stepside RCSB, a Mod Motor Mustang, and of course, the 2020 L5P Duramax tow rig. Subscribe to this channel for fun and tech filled content, and hit that notification bell to always stay up to date! I try to upload twice a week on Thursday and Sunday so there's always something new going on!

my FASTEST and BEST HANDLING truck gets an all new engine
the 2nd Gen Syclone project is coming along, and this time we build its engine to prepare it for a new life under the hood of my fastest, best handling, and lightest truck I've built. While I do like the idea of staying original to the syclone concept and doing a turbo V6, I just can't stand how they sound, plus I have an engine that's perfect for my needs.

you'll be SHOCKED by how little I got done this week
Переглядів 25 тис.14 днів тому
Its taken a long time, but I finally got around to finishing up the rear suspension on the scrapyard drag truck. Rear suspension consists of Calvert split mono leaf springs, Funkhouser rear spring sliders and anti-roll bar, and now some Viking Crusader adjustable shocks to match what we're running up front. rear shock brackets I welded to the axles amzn.to/457PVY0 rear upper brackets I used on ...
It's time for upgrades to the 2nd gen Syclone + UglyTruck
Переглядів 23 тис.28 днів тому
There are some long overdue upgrades for both the turbo 8.1 big block silverado and the 2nd gen syclone aka the AWD S-10 build that we're gonna knock out this week. When we're done, each truck should be easier and more comfortable to drive, but well worth the effort.
i made a mistake while installing my 1,700hp big block
Переглядів 24 тис.Місяць тому
It happens. I got distracted on a side project trying to get my 1,700 horsepower big block installed into the scrapyard drag truck, but when it came to the transmission, my attempted repair caused another problem. I think we were able to fix it at the end of the day, but it was a learning experience for sure.
the most STRESSFUL but SUCCESSFUL fabrication project I've done

This oil pan project was stressing me out because if we failed, than an oil pan would be ruined but also our 1,700hp 535 cubic inch big block wouldn't have the oil capacity it needed, so the pressure was on. my first attempt at upgrading the oil pan ua-cam.com/video/wPuMNDCligo/v-deo.htmlsi=XnQCjDetHVmN1Un0
my 1,700hp engine build is getting a little complicated
Переглядів 31 тис.Місяць тому
I thought we would get the engine installed into the 4x4 drag truck chassis today, but there are a few more changes I'll need to make to ensure the engine has its best chance of living up to the abuse we'll be putting it under. 1,700HP is a lot of power and it costs a lot of money to build the engine, so it's well worth any extra steps we need to take to keep it protected. Building a 1,700HP dr...
giving my Scrapyard Drag Truck a makeover, but was it worth it?

While waiting for a few parts to show up for the 535 big block, I got a crazy idea to try and make the scrapyard drag truck look a little better. Watch the assembly of the drag truck from scrapyard parts ua-cam.com/video/ZohlxaIU3Dw/v-deo.htmlsi=Xgno4w5QUIH4tqic

Saying goodbye can be the hardest part of life sometimes. Recently I had to take a trip back home to help take care of the family farm. We'll get back to the race truck next time though!
building a 1,700hp 4wd drag truck from SCRAP PARTS
Переглядів 179 тис.2 місяці тому
assembled purely from the junkyard and scrapped body parts, this truck will be given a new lease on life with a 1,700hp twin turbo big block and will hopefully complete the 1/4 mile in less than 9 seconds. Can we do it? Its a long journey before we'll be able to answer that question, but now we have the shell we need to build our monster. building the 10 second UglyTruck which inspired this bui...
completely disassembling a PERFECTLY GOOD truck to go racing
Переглядів 22 тис.2 місяці тому
We're building a race truck, but we need a ton of parts. I recently purchased a slightly wrecked 03 Silverado which run and drove, but today its getting completely disassembled so we can use the parts in other projects. We're grabbing the engine, transmission, all of the body panels, and all of the wiring to build a 1,500hp, twin turbo, big block, 4wd, extended cab drag truck.
repairing a MAJORLY BOTCHED INSTALL on my race truck
Переглядів 23 тис.2 місяці тому
I found a majorly botched install on the donor bed for my 4x4 race truck, so today, we're gonna repair it the right way before it goes onto the new chassis. basically, someone installed a homemade gooseneck hitch (onto a 1/2 ton truck) and completely trashed the bed in the process by cutting a giant hole and chopping out a pretty crucial crossmember. building a 10 second sleeper start to finish...

I have an l92 in the bed of my truck right now😂😂
Are those the prone to crack Castech 706 heads? The markings looked like it is.
Awesome project! I just picked up an 87 s10 with a 383 stroker.....the engine builder claims 600 hp with the shot of nitrous lol. Its all set up for drag racing, roll cage and all. Cant wait to get it down to the drag strip! People might think im crazy but i want to put my 51 chevy body on this s10 chassis lol
Back to the 5.3 ahhh. I suggested this a few months back. It's the greatest small displacement u can turbo with freat results. Perfect 4 cyclone remake of modern days. 👌 Good thing u see it my way .🤪 Auw ,🤗sweet vindication 🤣😂😅
Not liking the sound of a tuned V6 is a cop out... ALL hot rod motors sound GREAT... all depends if you are compensating for tiny penis syndrom... just put a big block in it......
The rule ls is if you do a ls swap u must go do cross country road and ls fest it
Are you running a factory style harness, so all your gauges work ?? Or modify the stock truck harness for your build ? Or a custom harness made for your s10 LS swap ??
Definitely like the blue better
I have a 04 denali .....6.0 with 4l65 awd.....$1000 its urs! Have to come to northplatte ne to get it
Twin turbos is better than 1!
Must admit I'm a little disappointed. With your level of OCD which I usually admire, your short cutting this while you have it almost completely opened up is questionable. With this many miles your not doing bearings??? I see you having to do a proper rebuild in the future, especially if your going to add boost. Your thoughts of 700-800HPboosted as is is not realistic IMHO. Good luck to you and I do enjoy your vids but this is disappointing, sorry.😒
So do you think you can bypass the radiator with a daily driver
Can you link the speciality tools you are using for the springs and rockers?
I was so hoping that you would use a 5.3 and add the blaster to it ..freaking cool .....I have a L33 in my 05 sierra and love the power and mpg
Remember LT you can get hooker Black Hart headers just for the S-10 that way you don't have to make them. This is just an idea only. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this engine.
Come LT you need to pull the heads so you can see if you need to replace the lifters. Brave sir.
So LT studs that break quite often. Buy using the ofter market bolts 🔩 will that cure the problem. Anyway I'm just Curious.
3:49 Fries are done
Just because you can Corvette, doesn't mean you should Corvette.
Wow!
Is spacers a good idea to the back wheels
Must be turbo bc of the name
I love this truck project
I built my 05 RCSB AWD, 80E, NP149, Turbo 6.0 because of your COPO truck. I also put it all on youtube because i thought your channel was really cool. Thanks for all the inspiration boss.
Anyone going to talk about the fact that it has castech heads?
I’m so curious to see how that does NA. My AWD truck weighing 4500 lbs and 3500 ft did a 12.7 NA.
What was that hand sanding block you were using to make sure the timing cover & front of engine flat? & what grit?
Please do not ever cam swap a high mileage engine with putting new cam bearings in first. That engine will be toast in 3 or 4,000 miles. The old cam and cam bearings have warn together making the imperfections match. When you add a new cam to old bearings it will not wear correctly and cause cam bearings failure.
It’s the OG coyote
Also I did the same swap in my 98 jimmy 4x4 and the v6 4l60 will not die after 20k miles of abuse . The 7.5 rear end didn’t break but it would have eventually . I put a new posi in and the stock centre pin was wore in half .
Is my understanding right that you degree the cam to find out the built in advance , so that when tuning you take that into account ? So on the lap top 20 would actually be 25?
No, spark timing and the tuning process has nothing to do with setting the cam timing. I degree the cam so I know/verify that it’s installed where it should be or where I want it to be. To me, it’s a step kinda like checking your oil after filling it. You just want to make sure it’s correct.
I'm learning a lot about LS engine work/upgrading from this video - glad I didn't skip it just because it's going into a S10 truck. (If I lived anywhere near you guys, I'd probably just send you the truck and the business for the swap).
Judging by the music on your radio I think I'd have a good time hanging out in your shop lol.
your OCD really speaks to me. That level of organization is so satisfying.
I guess if you are not going to boost that motor then whatever but you are there and a set of head gaskets and bolts if you are into that or if not just reuse them but I'd check the ring gap if you are going to do anything and you can inspect it an clean it up make sure the oil ring is not all gunked up
If you plan on putting boost on that engine and want it to last for the long haul then an iron block is best with head studs and a 2L Whipple supercharger and a water-to-air intercooler would definitely be a good combo with aluminum heads.
I’m kind of surprised you’re doing everything you are but not replacing the lifters. Especially when it’s torn down as much as it is.
“It’s my truck and I can name it whatever I want…” 😂 Can’t argue with that 😁
Holy crap sn 8.1 nice
It is a ton of fun
But it’s ugly
I specialize in ugly trucks
You oughta grab some aluminum whitener/brightener for cleaning aluminum. Hit it with the parts washer and then the cleaner takes the stains off. I love the stuff.
Definitely going to need shallower pan
What do you use in your parts washer?
It’s a water based solvent, unsure of its name but it works pretty good
@@LawrenceTolman looks like it works good it removed oil stains off aluminum
Hey LT, love this project!! Do you happen to know if the factory LS truck accessory drive will work in the S10 or do you need a shorter aftermarket drive system?
woo hoo this is what i’ve been waiting for !!!
LM7 is the peoples LS
I've owned 2 Syclone's and have a Typhoon . subscribing . don't disappoint us !
Gonna do my best to make you proud!
So when you say "all wheel drive" is it an all wheel drive transfer case or 4×4?
It’s getting an NV149 full time AWD transfer case from an SS Silverado. True AWD
Pushrod and rocker issues... Just get the lifters too. Pretty common failure point as well, no?
